Aakriti Kumar is a Ph.D. student at UCI's Department of Cognitive Sciences where she is advised by Mark Steyvers. Her research draws on the principles of cognitive science and machine learning to understand and improve AI-assisted human decision-making. Her work is broadly motivated by two questions:
1) how humans incorporate algorithmic advice in their decision-making? and
2) how can we help humans develop trust calibrated to an algorithm's ability?
