UC Noyce Initiative Fellow
Nathan Gonzalez is a PhD student at UC Davis in the department of Physics and Astronomy where he works in the Quantum Nanophotonics Laboratory under Dr. Marina Radulaski. His research focuses on developing scalable photonic platforms for quantum technologies, spanning quantum simulation and quantum networking. He investigates cavity quantum electrodynamics and programmable arrays of coupled optical cavities for simulating complex quantum systems. He also develops integrated photonic technologies to enhance the properties of solid-state quantum emitters for quantum networking and distributed quantum information processing. Together, his work aims to develop scalable photonic platforms to advance practical quantum technologies.
UC Noyce Initiative Research Project Summary
During his UC Noyce Graduate Fellowship, Gonzalez will develop scalable quantum technologies to simulate the physics of fundamental particles all on a compact chip, allowing us to explore physics that is too complex for today’s computers to study.
